VPN Security Risks

there is an organization that is not a part of my company but is set up as a separte vlan off our layer 3 switch. this vlan does not talk to any of the vlans in my company and has its own ISP to go out to the internet.

dont ask me why it is set up like that becuase i dont know myself. all i need help with is identifying security risks invlolved with this type of setup. we have a cisco ips sensor on the switch that sees traffic from all the sensors. it also picks up traffic from this vpn (external organization). i see a lot of spyware and p2p traffic on this vlan but this doesn not impact my comapny in any manner as they have their own isp.

i want to know if this vlan can exploit the sensor or cause the swithc to go down. is there any attack that can be used in this scenario. if i can put together a case explaining the threat this vlan imposes on our network, i can get them off our switch. last time we discussed this, the external organization said that even if they have a virus it will not impact our company so we shud ignore everything we see from them.
