there is an option in GPO to allow only certain control panel applets do that for network connections and they should be able to do it.

Browse All TopicsWe have multiple users in our sales dept. who travel with their laptops. This week we have had a couple of people travel that were not able to change their wireless settings (or any for that matter) to gain access to their respective hotel networks. Part of the group policy at work does not give them access to run or control panel or anyway to adjust settings. Is there a way to use group policy so that when the laptops leave the office the domain user can have full admin control? Thanks for the help.

The simplest way to achieve this would be to map the roaming users to a local admin profile.
You can either give the local admin rights to the roaming UserIDs, or allow them to login as local administrators by providing the Local Admin Credentials to them.
Depending on your precise situation (more details required), there may be some other options available as well.
Hope this helps.

Why don't you just give them full admin control all the time.
Or give them the ability of changing network connections via GPO.
I personally would just let them have network connections and the ability to change else you will be causing more work for yourself if you give them admin rights. Programs installed users messing with settings.
