I kind of remember that redirecting to local loopback is not possible. I will check and try to get a reference on that.

Running Centos 5. Would like to redirect traffic coming into ip address 10.10.10.11 port 25 to localhost port 2525.
Tried this rule.
iptables -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -p tcp -m tcp -d 10.10.10.11 --dport 25 -j REDIRECT --to 127.0.0.1:2525
But I got this error.
iptables: Unknown error 4294967295
Please enlighten. Thanks a lot.

Least to say loopback interface has some problems/limitations:
You can't send packets from non 127/8 addresses to 127/8. The kernel
filters them out and drops them as it considers them "martians".

Does the chain RH-Firewall-1-INPUT exist ?
Try
iptables -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -p tcp -d 10.10.10.11 --dport 25 -j REDIRECT --to 127.0.0.1:2525
