Local Machine rights in Active Directory

We run a lockdown environment for our user desktops in AD.  Users have XP SP2 as the desktop OS.  Here's my question:  We have a program that the user taps a scan button on the scanner and a window pops up on the desktop asking which method do you want to use to scan.  It lists a few options.  At the bottom of this window is a checkbox that, if checked will always us the selected program to scan.  It is greyed out.  Logged in as an admin a local admin it is not greyed out.  There is no permission or rights setting in the scan software for the scanner.  Is there a local policy setting to ungrey this box?  Start Free Trial
