The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Is it safe to run these programs alonside each other?

i am curently running comodo free firewall version 3.12, g-data antivirus 2010 (trial-planning on buying it if its good-would welcome any comments abt g-data), spybot S&D version 1.6.2.0, superantispyware version 4.29, sponsored adblocker version 1.0.

Note: superantispyware doesnt run in realtime protection mode....i use it optionally once a week or if i have doubts abt an infection. I run the rest of the prgrams in realtime protection mode.

So far (since last 2 days-thts wen i changed my system config and reinstalled my OS)  i havent had any problems yet. There isnt any memory leaks or runaway processes eating up my pc unless i m running a scan on g-data, superantispyware or spybot (guess it is expected during scans) I find this bunch of programs is better than ZA suite i had been using for yrs.

I am kinda paranoid about getting my pc hacked into by sumone (i have a hunch my pc got hacked into a few times cuz i got errors wen checking in emails and im which said i was logged in two places) ......and about viruses and spyware so i am using this mix of programs for my security.

My questions: Do these programs work well together? Is it ok to run them alongside eachother? Will they keep me safe? Is g-data antivirus good? cuz i plan on purchasing it if it is good. Is it safe to use Blocklist Manager (BISS) along with my firewall application? Can i use them on a pc running vista or windows 7?

I dont like Norton cuz of ram and cpu hogging and problems with other antispyware programs etc etc. I havent used kapersky or Mcafee dunno if they hog up system too like norton and ZA or not.

I have used Avast and really liked it :) If i have to change any programs i may go for avast or alvira antivirus and online armor or outpost firewall.

My system: Toshiba satellite M70-131 laptop (yep its a old one but works well) windows xp sp2, 512 ram and the software i have mentioned above. :)
