Is it just that simple? then the virtual interface will act as a gateway to the other 2 physical interfaces?

I am failing to understand how to create a virtual interface from to physical interfaces I know how to create the virtual interface via the ifconfig command and edit the host files, but due to be a beginner with Solaris 10 and unix I am struggling to understand the full picture.

you can add the ip address or hostame from /etc/hosts in the file /etc/hostname.e1000g2:1
