The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

WIN2k SP3, HELP !, i can not logon, local policy block me !

Asked by dimention in Windows Network Security

Tags:

My network is 2 computer on a router Dl704 and each of them are win 2k server SP3 domain controller config (i never been able to get one child of the other !).

I got my local policies mess up then loose logon locally right so i can not logon !

The real problem is that i am the only administrative user on my server (win 2k SP3 on my home machine).

Ntright.exe do not work !

ntrights -m \\HOME -u administrators +r SeInteractiveLogonRight
or
ntrights -m \\home -u administrators -r SeDenyInteractiveLogonRight

It say granted .... then say :

***error*** OpenPolicy -1073741790

Iit work on command line (not dos prompt or recovery console !) so i think it useless because i can not even pass the logon to reach the command line.

The only way i access remotly is by LDAP but it seem that i access locally too because i stay on the network i suppose , i do not really know.

What can i do to save me from loosing the configuration and a great deal protected and encrypted data (no way to reach it outside windows) ???

I do not know what i can do except replacing the SAM by a generic one but that will screw up several other things i think

I wait your reactions ... thankyou in advance
