How do I Eliminate Internet Activity History esp auto complete search entries?

I am using Windows XP Home edition, Internet Explorer 6 with AOL Ver. 8.  Each time I begin to type a web address or word in the search bar, things come up that I'd rather be forgotten.  Without buying expensive programs, i.e., "Evidence Eliminator"; how do I get rid of these annoying and potentially problematic entries?

Check  your registry for typed urls
and also in IE, go to tools, internet options, content, auto complete and clear the forms, or uncheck auto complete
you could also just clear your history, and they all should disappear

To clear the history
Go to Control Panel > Internet Options and open it to the "General" tab and look for a section labeled "History". You can configure how many days to keep it in the list and you can clear the list immediately by clicking on the "Clear History" button.

To just clear the search history
You will find the list here
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs

You will notice that they are numbered url1, url2, etc.. If you want the remaining address's to show up in the list you will need to redo it in sequence starting with url1.

If you need to WIPE OUT the history "good" try Kremlin.
Free tryout, think you can use Wipe history free, its the "encryption" that cost money if you want it.
