Browse All TopicsOK, I've been having issues trying to restrict access to files on our win2k server. The files are autocad drawings, and I am aiming to allow all users of a group to be able to modify any drawing, but only the owner/creator to delete them (or an administrator). What I have found is that I can assign modify rights to a group (domain users) and the users can modify and save the drawings, but they also have full delete access. But if I remove delete (or set delete to deny) then the users will be unable to save changes to their drawings.
So it seems that I can't have both. The same behaviour is shown by MS word when editing documents. But if I open a simple text file with notepad it works perfectly.
I have also viewed the following thread which seems to be a similar problem and followed the advice but have the same problem. http://www.experts-exchang
Thanks all!!!
