Question

What is Davex and why has it appeared in my Application Log

The following appears in my Application event log I have two questions

1, What is it
2, If it is a security Audit Event why is it not in the Security section.

I am running exchnage 2000 on this machine which is a domain controller.

I looked at that, it still does not explain why it appears in my event log.

To improve performance, Microsoft has eliminated the OWA 5.5 ASP scripts and replaced them with a DLL that handles communications between the IIS server and the Exchange server. This DLL is called davex.dll on a back-end server and exprox.dll on a front-end server. Davex.dll consists of components that handle Get and Post requests as well as a dynamic renderer, a rendering engine, a template renderer, and a template cache.

Looks like someone is using outlook web access, do you have a PC called Jason on your network?

Thanks, MS Exchnage has been running on the server for about 4 months. I wonder why it took that long for it to appear in the event log ????
