This is a very product-specific question and I imagine it will be very hard to answer unless you actually have experience with BT Voyager stuff. But who knows, maybe there is someone out there who can help........
I have two PCs both running Windows XP Pro, each with a USB connection
to a 1010 wireless adapter. The wireless ADSL modem (which is actually connected to the line) I am using is the Voyager 2000. I am having problems on one of the computers.
Using just my administrator account, everything works perfectly. However, on one of the computers there I have set up a user (limited) account for someone else in my family to use. The problem is that if, after switching on the PC, or restarting, I log straight into the user account without entering my own administrator account first, then the adaptor driver/utility thing (called BT Voyager Wireless Utility) will not start up by itself. When I go to run it manually from the Start menu, it comes up with a box saying either something similar to "Cannot detect BT Voyager 1010 Adaptor" or "Please insert USB adaptor", and doesn't open. Now I know that the adaptor is plugged in and working fine in the Administrator account.
The only way to avoid this is, as i suggested earlier, by signing into my administrator account first, then logging back out and signing into the user account. This way the Wireless Utility starts up without problems and connects to the adaptor. But obviously this is not an
acceptable solution.
I have also tried creating a user account on my other computer - with exactly the same results.
I strongly suspect that this is a Windows permissions/security issue. I have not messed about with any of the default permissions or settings.
I have already read the troubleshooting section of the manual and there is nothing related.
