Trojan won't go away

Hello everyone.

I recently received an application from my brother that contained a virus and/or trojan. I have Norton Internet Security 2005. Since I installed the application, every time my computer boots up, it starts sending out emails. I know because Norton AntiVirus has boxes that pop up saying "Scanning email...". It also pops up some browser windows, and these ads that don't seem to be in browser windows - they are like in the shape of cell phones, or hearts, or something, and are different every time, asking me to "Click Here for more information". My ISP sent me a letter alerting me to complaints they have gotten, and advising me to clean up the computer. Unfortunately, I have installed all of the latest virus definitions/updates, and it still seems to be on my computer. I have scanned my PC several times now with AdAware and Norton AntiVirus 2005, but neither of these two seem to catch the virus.

Is there a way I can stop this from infecting my computer?
