I just bought a desktop computer(Gateway GT5082, windows XP home edition). I just installed Quicken so that I could track down my expenses, online bill payments and budgeting, etc..
I have learned that when you deal with your banks and credit cards online, there is always an issue with "security for your personal and financial info" specially that hackers and advanced IT experts who have bad intentions could always scan your computer and find its back door or establish a mid point between your computer and your banks or your credit cards to monitor your online activity and mess up everything for you. I've been trying to find a good firewall and internet secuity software that will protect my data and my online activities (although I am aware that as long as you are online or your computer is on, you are always vulnerable) to help me manage my financial transactions online. Currently I have spy sweeper, trend micro pc-cillin Antivirus and for my internet security, Zone Alarm Internet Security Suite. Now, the problem arise after I installed Zone Alarm. MY online activity starts to slow down. When I open a page online, it will take sometimes to open. I have to click again and again or click on the back or forward tool or close the page and start all over again. It's time consuming and very annoying. When I closed zone alarm, it does the same thing. It's not speeding nor opening pages fast.
Whats my options? I want to surf fast and be secured at the same time. Shall I delete zone alarm and change it with something? I 've been doing a lot of research but there are also a lot of softwares like Steganos, Twister, CA Internet Security and I don't know which is which. Trend Micro has this router and there internet security package. There's a lot of chooses and reviews on these products but you only know its cons once you install and use it. Please give me a solution to this problem.
