The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Help with atdmt.com!

Asked by wayneskid in Windows Network Security

What is view.atdmt.com?

Symptoms are: IE is slow and "Opening page......view.atdmt.com" sometimes shows in the IE status bar.

About this system:
Dell Dimension 8400
P4 at 3.2 GHz
2 SATA drives totaling 300 GB
2 GB RAM
WinXP Pro SP2 w/ all updates except IE7
MS Office 2003 w/ all updates
IE ver. 6 with tabbed browsing
DSL internet connection
NAV 2006 w/ all updates; all functions enabled
Windows Firewall is on
DLink wireless router firewall is on.
IA Roboform w/ latest updates.
While I readily admit I have a lot to learn about online security, I generally practice pretty safe computing.  No gaming, no porn, mainstream apps only, never open email attachments from unknown sources, etc.

Steps taken today:
Installed latest NAV updates; ran NAV full system scan (Yikes! 948,500 files!) there were no viruses, spyware,
or other threats found.
Ran Symantec online security scan - no issues detected.

So, here are my questions for all you security gurus:
What is view.atdmt.com?
What are the associated risks?  I do financial stuff online; is this a big concern?
How do I kill it?
How do I prevent similar annoyances in the future?  About a year ago I had WebRoot SpySweeper and ZoneAlarm running on this system but found that the performance hit was pretty serious and the frequency with which they tripped over themselves and other apps was not tolerable.  Are these tools better now?

Many thanks in advance,
WS in AK

BTW - don't even get me started about my feelings re. the creeps who perpetrate this crap!
