I have an ip cam setup on 192.168.1.31 with port 81 open to accept connections.
Now I am trying to configure my server that has a static ip of 75.144.218.185 to forward to the local port 192.168.1.31:81
I want to be able to type in 75.144.218.185:81 and have it pull up my ip cam instead of the server page.
Now I had this setup without issue before when I was running a 2003 server and can't seem to figure it out with 2008 server.
I have tried google and I can't seem to figure it out. Help someone

Do not take in consideration what they are saing there.. only the steps... that is only what you need the steps and change the configuration for your ports...
1.In the left pane of the Server Manager, expand the Routing and Remote Access node and then expand the IPv4 node. Click on the NAT node.
2. In the NAT node, right click on the external interface in the middle pane of the console. In this example, the name of the external interface is Local Area Connection. Click Properties.
3. In the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box, ( or what you have named the external card )
4.Go to service and ports
5. Clik Add
6. Create a new config for port 81 -> save it.. give it a name TCP_Port_81
7.Clik OK
8.Check the new box appeard in the services and ports TCP_Port_81
9. In the dialog box that appears In the Private Address text box, enter the IP address of the Certificate Server on the internal network. Click OK.
10. Enter the pprivat adress ehre the destionation will be ( in our case 192.168.1.31)
11.Click OK in the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box.
And this should work..
I tried to follow these picture examples but I don't even see these options . Look at attachment.

OK what I am trying to do is create a port forward so when I type in my static ip of the server followed by :81 it will go directly to an ip cam that I have setup on 192.168.1.31 . Now I have port 81 open on the cam to allow this.
I did this with 2003 server and it worked perfectly but now I can't seem to get it on this server 2008
the W2K8 server seems to be the gateway between your internal and external network. does the server have two NICs plugged in?
if yes, you may simply use ICS of W2K8. please see the following instruction to enable ICS on your W2K8.
Internet Connection Sharing and Network Bridge in Windows Server 2008
http://technet.microsoft.c
after enabling ICS, you may set Port Forwarding in its Advanced Settings by adding a service, and giving the port (81) and the destination IP.
hope it helps,
bbao
With only one network card is a holl other story.. I think all the things that we told you will not work.. because I do not know how are you routing with one network card ( is not imposible.. but not working by default from what i know )
Try with portmaping http://technet.microsoft.c
It should get you the result.. but i never tried!
Ok. I had an old server windows 2003 SBS server that I did this to with one nic. It was easy when I did it with the 2003 server that had one nic. Now I have a 2008 64 bit server and it doesn't seem to work the same.
This 2008 server has 1 nic. I know its possible because I did it with my 2003 server but with this new OS 2008. Can't seem to figure it out
The problem with what you are describing is that you say the server only has one NIC. As this server is connected to the Internet with the IP Address 75.144.218.185 via this NIC how can it connect to the 192.168.x.x local network.
Port forwarding only works where you have more that one NIC/Network Interface.
Can you clariify please.
it seems you are talking about single NIC based NAT. see this thread.

Try something like this: utorials/P ublishing- Windows-Se rver- 2008- SSL-VPN-Se rver-Using -ISA-2006- Firewalls- Part1.html ( check the part Configure the NAT Server to Publish the CRL ) but change it for what you want...
I hope you are using RRAS....
