that sorted it, however there are still options greyed out and it says its being controlled by gpo still, but i could allow the programs through again so all good

on a XP SP3 machine attached to a domain sbs 2003
i went to windows firewall and it do not allow expections is ticked and greyed out so i cant change it
at the top it says a security policy is in effect prevent you making changes or somehting like that
only thing is i checked the sbs server and all the polices (of which i put in place, i would of remembered doing such thing) and there is none for windows firewall
also this problem is only on this pc in the entire domain, all the others when i log in as administrator i can do as i please with windows firewall, just this machine

Hi, the following should help you out. Sounds like a local security setting is configured.
Follow these steps while logged in as a local administrator on that machine:
1. From the Start menu, select Run, then enter gpedit.msc.
2. Expand the Computer Configuration folder, then the Administrative Templates folder.
3. Expand the Network folder, then the Network Connections folder, then the Windows Firewall folder.
4. Select the Standard Profile folder.
5. Double-click the Windows Firewall: Protect all network connections option.
6. Select Disabled, then click OK.
7. Select the Domain Profile folder.
8. Double-click the Windows Firewall: Protect all network connections option.
9. Select Disabled, then click OK.
10. Close the Group Policy dialog box.
