I've set up 10 FTP sites pointing to virtual directories on a Windows 2003 Server.
These FTP sites are designed so that if a support team member needs one of our clients to submit data for analysis, they can direct them to a site and give them the login and password.
I'd like the support person to be able to "on the fly" change, not the login, but the password to something of their choosing, so that once that user uploads the data, that same login can be used for another client upload but with a different password, keeping it secure to others each time.
Right now, I as Admin have to be bothered to do this for each upload.
The way the FTP is setup, is that each login, corresponds to an actual USER on the server (Identical name) and that user's login directs them to their specific upload directory.
Can something be written or contrived that will allow the support person to do this?
Must I give that person Admin rights? This is not desired or practical.
I'm open to suggestions
