Diasbling the MSRPC Service
i have an ISA 2000 server running on windows 2000 Server. i have ran the nmap software to scan for open ports. one port i saw is 135/tcp msrpc. Is there any effect if i disable it?

I believe it is essential for AD and Exchange.  Best I think you can do is make sure your server has all the latest patches.  I would recommend doing the appropriate backups if the functionality is available before applying patches.
