Why access port 137?

I have a cable modem with an Linux/ipchains firewall. I see frequent accesses to my port 137 (NetBios Name service if I'm not misstaken). These get rejected, of course, but why do people want to access that port? They seem to come from lots of weird places... Would a hacker access that port? If so, what would be his/her next step?Start Free Trial
