how can I uninstall norton internet security 2005
it will not let me uninstall it through the control panel add/remove programs.  I saw a link to symantec for removal and when  i went there, it said i might need to install an active x.... i clicked on install but that did not work... something about the symantec scanner failed (i had originally stopped all symantec and norton stuff from running in msconfig)

any thoughts how to do this?

Download and run this uninstaller:

ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/linked_files/tsgen/SymNRT.exe

Good luck,

Security is the protection of information systems from theft or damage to the hardware, the software, and the information on them, as well as from disruption or misdirection of the services they provide. The main goal of security is protecting assets, and an asset is anything of value and worthy of protection. Information Security is a discipline of protecting information assets from threats through safeguards to achieve the objectives of confidentiality, integrity, and availability or CIA for short. On the other hand, disclosure, alteration, and disruption (DAD) compromise the security objectives.
