The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. Server Network Goes Down each weekend

I have a client with Windows 2000 Server. Each Friday night between 5-7pm EST the network shuts down and comes back up on Monday at around 7-7:30am EST. The current setup is as follows: they have a Sonic Wall SOHO3 firewall that is hooked up to a fractional T-1 line. It goes directly into a non-managed switch. The server is hooked up directly to the switch. This has been the setup for years but for the last 4 weekends the server goes down. It cannot access the internet, it cannot access other computers on the network and the workstations cannot see the server as well. I cannot even ping out. I have tried to ping the SOHO3 firewall and I cannot. I have run 4 seperate virus scan programs and found no viruses. I am thinking it may be a group policy that was affected. We did have a event logs stating corruption in the group policies but i fixed that. Any ideas?Start Free Trial
