The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Cisco - ISA Server config help

Asked by Robing66066 in MS Forefront-ISA, Network Software Firewalls, Cisco PIX Firewall

I have the following scenario:

Internet <-->  (111.111.111.51)Cisco PIX (172.18.1.254)<--> (172.18.1.1)Microsoft ISA 2006 (10.1.0.205)<--> Internal Network <--> (10.1.0.222) Internal server to be published

My ISP has provided 6 public IP addresses for use.  I've already set up a Web server using port 80 that can be accessed and now I need to set up a second one.

I'm not clear about how the second one can be set up.  From what I'm reading in the PIX config, all traffic that comes in on the interface is sent to the ISA server.  I have an access list that controlls what ports will be allowed to pass through.

At this time, I'm using the outside interface address as the destination address for those wishing to contact the internal server.  I'm guessing that I'll need to invoke one of the other IP addresses for this other server, but I can't see how to differentiate the two as they come in to the ISA server.

Basically, I have one internal web server working with this config, now I need to add another.

Here is my PIX config: (I changed the public IP's for security)

PIX Version 6.3(4)
