If you want to reset the entire configuration back to the factory defaults, then from enable mode on the ASA, issue the command:
configure factory-default
That resets everything.

Browse All TopicsHello, I must have made a stupid mistake when setting up my new Cisco ASA 5505. After I completed the setup wizard I was prompted to enter the password (which I did change). When I put in the password the router does not accept it. Somewhere I must have made a mistake. I tried to reset the device by pressing the reset button but that does not appear to work. The manual says that the reset device is "reserved for future use." Can anyone please tell me how to properly reset the device back the the factory state so that I can start over? I appreciate any help, thank you.

I would recommend just doing a password reset (following the procedures) and then changing the config or erasing the config and starting over:
