The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Problems joining domain through Cisco site-to-site

Asked by Wyandotte in Cisco PIX Firewall, Virtual Private Networking (VPN), Active Directory

Tags: , , ,

We have 2 domain controllers at the location called Main. We have another location called Remote that we are installing a server at. We have 2 Cisco ASA5510 firewalls at each location. There is a site-to-site connection between both locations. The subnet at Main is 192.168.0.0. The subnet at Remote is 192.168.3.0. The connections works just fine. We can connect to any of the computers. Users at Remote are able to connect to Exchange. Users at Remote are able to authenticate through the site-to-site. Everything works fine except that we are unable to join any of the computers to the domain through the site-to-site. When you try, it says that a domain controller could not be contacted. We can ping both domain controllers from Remote and even open them up in explore, but it will not let us join to the domain. We have tried on the server and several desktops and get the same result. We have no problems joining computers to the domain while they are at the Main location. Just not from Remote. We really need to get these computers on the domain and are running out of time. We are running 2003 servers in native mode. Please HELP!!!Start Free Trial
