I see the option for a cert in the iPhone IPsec VPN settings but it's greyed out and I can't figure out how to access it. The ASA is set up to install the SSL client (AnyConnect) when someone hits the site (clientless VPN is not configured). Of course that doesn't work on the iPhone. Can anyone provide instructions on how to set up both the iPhone and the ASA to get this working, without messing up my current configuration?

On the ASA side all you need to do is configure 'normal' remote access vpn. If you can connect to your asa with a client (laptop for example) you can use the same for your iPhone.

I myself am using my iPhone 3G to VPN to an ASA, however that is not using SSL vpn, but IPSec VPN. I am unaware of an SSL VPN option.
IPSec VPN works like a charm, tho.
This is probably not the answer you're looking for, but might put you on track for a work around if need be.
Good luck, anyway.
