The ASA supports SNMP version 1,2c and 3. 3 is the only secure version, the setup document is below.

Any chance you meant decrypt instead of encrypt?  Are you wanting to know what the string is and you're seeing *****'s in your config?

ASA 8.0 only support SNMP v1. The community string is shown in plain text.

I am running IOS version 8.0.4 and this looks accurate not what I wanted to hear.

You can upgrade to ASA 8.2 and get the added features of SNMPv3
