Question

Remote LAN access through Cisco VPN client to ASA

Asked by: fgasimzade

The problem is: I can connect now using Cisco VPN Client, but I can not access any network behind ASA. Moreover, I get an IP from the pool defined, but I also get default-gateway on client machine which was not defined anywhere. And I can not ping it from client. Do I have to define it anywhere explicitly?

You are missing a nat (inside) 0 statement as well as the corresponding access lists allowing traffic from nat, and then you need ip access-lists (or access-lists specifiying only services or tcp/udp ports) that correspond to your cryptomap statements:

access-list outside_1_cryptomap extended permit ip  {allowed networks}
your remote access client pool ip range needs to be included in these access lists

also, a route inside statement to this ip pool range is helpful

in the cisco client, the default gateway you see in the client-assigned ip address
is not configurable

by: fgasimzadePosted on 2009-09-16 at 23:36:44ID: 25353307

//also, a route inside statement to this ip pool range is helpful

Where should I define this route? On the switch, connected to ASA?

by: fgasimzadePosted on 2009-09-17 at 00:20:37ID: 25353485

I have added nat (inside) 0 statement, but still no luck. I can connect with Cisco VPN client, but i can not access any network behind ASA. When I route print on client machine, I see no default route through VPN tunnel. I add it manually, but still no luck.
