I am not familiar with ISA server, and our application is being blocked by the proxy server.
Apparently u can add the web service url to the exception list in ISA to the allow traffic to go thru.
Is this correct, and how would i do it?

Hi Keith,
The guys r going onsite this week, so we can then test. I am also going to setup up an ISA server on one of our Virtual Servers to start testing with.
I will let u know how it goes. I am hopfully planning a quick win by adding the url to the exception list or make a rule for it. I will be able to get the details of which version of ISA they are using.
thanks
Looking at the Error it seems that there is some kind of ActivX control which is trying to make connection through the ISA Server. I have seen this with the Java apps which is not capable of forwarding any Credentials.
Try this.. Install Microsoft Firewall client on a client machine which is having issue. You can install it from :
http://www.microsoft.com/d
Enable the Firewall client connect on the iSA:
1. Go to the newtork (it is in the laft hand side of the tree.
2. Double click the Internal Network and go to the Firewall client tab and enable it,
3. Apply the changes and test the configuration.
BTW can you give me the URL which is having issues.

HI guys,
thanks for the comments and sorry for getting back to this question so late.
Basically we have mapped out an installation guide to adding an exception to an ISA server for our web service. We have tested the process in our lab and waiting to still test in production. I have also found another way for our process if it gets blocked thru proxy and cannot get out even with our rule, we are going to email the file to our server for now, until we can get a better solution preferably using code
thanks anyway for the help and input its much appreciated.

Not quite.
It depends on the reasoning of why the app is being blocked. As you have not mentioned the version of ISA being used, I'll assume it is a supported version such as 2004 or 2006 - and that you have applied all the service packs for it.
Open the ISA Gui, select monitoring - logging - click start query.
Attempt to access the outside via the app - what do you see in the realtime log?
FULL details please.
