Browse All TopicsWe have dual internet ISP facility in our office. The VPN was configured through one ISP and second ISP is been used for internet realted works.
Link 1 : Cisco ASA 5520 FW (VPN's are configured here)
Link 2: PIX 515E
Issues:
(1) We could not configure all our client VPN's via 2nd Link due to network IP Address clash. (My local network is 1.2.3.4/16). Suggest me is there any other way we can configure Active / standby mode for the client VPN's - (Without manual intervention? If ISP1 goes down, all the vpn's should be connected via ISP2)
(2) Bandwidth: We need to know the traffic pattern for incoming / outgoing traffic over nework. Is there any tool available to know the protocols / source and destination IP's / Blocking of unwanted traffic etc..etc...??
(3) Is there any tool (software or hardware) available to shape the internet??
Thanks / SP

1. Why don't you split half the VPN connection over to PIX and then change only their profile, give them the profile and they can use it to connect to PIX instead of ASA.

2. PRTG (or free MRTG) could show your utilization information per link and packets in/out etc. PRTG is much better and they have a 5 device license free.
3. There is no automatic solution to this. You need to keep watching your network trends/protocols/ports etc and tune in the traffic according to your needs;
Some one here actually asked the same question, which I had blogged;
