The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Does Inter-Vlan communication work through a Watchguard x1000 firebox?

Hi. My name is Greg and I am the sole IT Administrator at my new job and their is no continuity between the old IT Administrator. I am trying to create seperate vlans to logically isolate office sections. I have Linksys SRW2024 switches which seem to create vlans  but I am not really sure how because it doesn't ask you to specify gateway information as I come from a Cisco IOS background. I don't believe they have inter-vlan communication setup at the moment. These switches are connected to a Watchguard Firebox x1000 and I think there in lies the problem. As I can't seem to find anything that specifies whether or not the Firebox will allow VLANs through. The Firebox then connects to the ISPs Netopia R5300 T1 Router. Any help with this issue would be appreciated. Thank you.
