Hi,
Sometimes you have to reset it twice to make it work. Try doing it twice.
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI am trying to configure a Firebox Edge X 10e for wireless connections. Evidently, the person who first hooked it up used the initial setup wizard found by logging into the device at https://192.168.111.1.
He does not know what password/user name he put in. So, I did a hard reset of the box and attempted to login through the same 192.168.111.1. I cannot get it to accept the user name/password default.
Searching the net tells me that the default user is blank and the default password is "wg". It DOES not login with this. Blank users and passwords do not work.
I have not used this particular brand, Watchguard Firebox, before. Does pushing the reset button reset the password and such as would doing so on a Linksys or Netgrear router? Or should I do something else to reset it? I've tried what he thinks the password might have been in case it didnt' reset it, but that does not work either, and I have been waiting 45 minutes for tech support to call back and I need to get moving on this.
Thank you.

I know its been closed nut I had the same issue with an edge x15 and I defaulted several times no change, then when i did the last factory reset I set the password to 12345678 at login for fun, and still couldnt use the wizards or firewall rules propely, then i went to authenticate user screen and changed the password to my original selection and amazingly it allowed me to do changes after this, it seems that when it prompted to set the password the first time after disclaimer and you login it still limited you somehow until you change the pasword once more,
tested twice

It appears that the unit is not reset to factory defaults; can you try resetting the unit to factory defaults again. Did you get a certificate warning; did you accept it.
Please check and update.
Thank you.
