MSN Messenger 6.2

Hello all!

This is my first post and a very hard question to answer - well, it is if you are not familiar with networking:-(. That's why I am here among the "Experts".

First of all let me tell you the set up I have and then the problem.

I am using Windows XP with the latest version of MSN Messenger 6.2 DSL Connection & Linksys router. The problem is that I can't use the Video Conference feature that cames with MSN. I was able to use it before I installed a Linksys Router (BEFW11S4). After I realized that the router was the possible problem, I disconnected it and ran the DSL Modem directly to my Ethernet card. It worked fine. So in short, what I need to do is figure out what is the best way to open the ports that MSN uses - whatever they may be - and how to do it. This is the first time I have tried to connect my two PCs together sharing the connection and it's really frustrating.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

The post worked, well... I had to improvise a little, but it helped A LOT!

OK, here's what I did...

I had to upgrade the firmware to the latest version from Linksys. After that I all I did was enable the UPnPand before you know it... I was in video conference with my brother 10 seconds later. This site is the most help I've had in three days. That's how long I have been looking for the answer. I guess it does pay to ask an experts!
