Cisco VPN Client .pcf File Location

Hi

I support several remote users who connect to a Pix using a Cisco VPN Client.

Is there any way of modifying the path to the folder that stores the .pcf files? I would like to try having users store them on a USB stick so that if the stick is not attached to the laptop, the client cannot find the profile to connect. This way, if the user looses a laptop/has it stolen, the connection details to our network are not stored on it.

Hi there,

You could delete the profile from the folder, and then import it from the USB key; the problem is that the application would copy back the profile to the profile folder.

So the answer is no, you cannot change the path to the folder that stores the .pcf files.

Yes, as Carribeantech suggested there is no alternative to this. But if you have strong password policies then stealing a .pcf file would not harm you.

Your group password is already in encrypted form, then the user needs to input his password at the prompt (Based on the authentication method you are using). So I don't think it would be much of a problem.
