With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. Cisco ASA 5510 causing problems since addition to network

I hope I accurately relay this issue...here goes.  

Setup
7 locations connected to main
Internet Connection into main shared by all 7 connections
Netscreen 25 firewall behind a cisco 1700 router
Internal Exchange Server
Client Workstations use Outlook 2003, XP and a few 2000

This setup works fine

We recently bought a Cisco ASA 5510 with VPN and Intrusion Prevention capabilities to replace the Netscreen.  I've added it to the network, leaving the Netscreen in place.  the Outside interface has a different IP as well as the Inside interface.  

Problem: Whenever I turn the ASA on and connect it to the inside interface (internal network), I have network issues.  Users (10 out of 30 at one location...haven't heard others complain yet) get a delay in their emails from Outlook.  They are consistenly getting a "requesting data from the exchange server..." error message.  

As soon as I unplug the ASA or power it off, everyone is fine and no issues are reported.  

currently, both the ASA and Netscreen are plugged into the same switch and no other computers use that switch.  

What am I missing? I can't seem to find a link.  I've checked DHCP on the firewall and it's not enabled....

Also.....all client computers have static IPs, no DHCP.  

Help!
