I have a small network:
Unmanaged 100mb switches
DSL
D-Link DI-604 Router
Windows 2003 Server in "server" mode
Novell Netware 4.2 Server, NOT using IP, just IPX
Windows 2000 Pro (W2K Pro) and XP Pro workstations
Things work well and problems are minimal.
We want to add a WiFi Access Point.
Two main things, I want the Access Point to provide two different types of access.
1. Normal employee, with proper authentication from Access Point, can access the whole network without limitations.
2. Guest user can only use the internet, in other words - is limited to the gateway/router's IP Address, so to speak.
Cost is a factor, as is complexity. I'm a small networking and PC consultant, but am not well versed in strong security and configuring complex routers. I'd like to keep the price in the $200-300 max range if possible.
Any suggestions?
