The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. Using ASA to route between subnets

Hi,

I'd like to know if there is anyway possible to use an ASA firewall to route between internal subnets.

I have a subnet (Subnet 1) on one interface of the ASA (~.1), with workstations using the ASA interface as a default gateway.
I also have a PIX connected to Subnet 1 with an address ~.10.  Another subnet on the PIX has Subnet 2.
There is a static route on the ASA stating to reach Subnet 2 go to ~.10 on Subnet 1

I'd like to be able to reach Subnet 2 from workstations on Subnet 1 using the ASA as the default gateway, no static routes on the workstations and no other intermediate L3 device on the network.

I don't think this is possible (due to the firewall design), but I'm just hoping someone has thought of a work around.
