Firewall Enterprise Open Source

I am trying to use an open source linux based enterprise level - "Firewall"::

I have used commercial grade but mostly enterprise level was hardware based firewalls and TMG 2010.

I have no experience other than downloading and reading other IT professionals comments to the company site itself.

Any advice or other software to consider would be greatly appreciated.

Researching looking at:

1)  PFSense - (looking at squid as I am researching)

2)  Sophos - Their free version for business firewall - I have read from other IT comments that it is very functional for a free version.

3) Untangled - Looking at.

3)  Kerio Control - Not open source but looking at!

Here is a glimpse of the network
I have a small to medium network.

There are 5 users and (2 remote) in from clients at times.

I have 2 deciatated carriers:

- ATT: 13 Static IP's
- Comcast: 13 Static IP's

Consisting of:

3 - PC's running Windows 8.1
3 - Laptops runnning Windows 8.1
2 - iPhones
2 - iPads
3 - Network "Wireless" Printers

Servers:

There are 5 servers that are all running Windows Server 2012 DC:

2 - Domains Controller - File Servers
1 - Web Server
1 - Exchange Server 2013
1 - Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013

Looking for firewall choices and advice,
Thanks, Clint.

Pf-sense with squid is great,  if you have the time to read through the configuration. If you do not have the time untangle is the next best its Gui so you can see what you're doing.

Yes I agree with going with a Distro and established time and tested software.

I am looking over all the information you sent.  Thank you for the head start and will get back with this forum post to let you know how it worked out... Thanks again.
