The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

ZyWall 2 Plus config with IIS and Tomcat

Asked by Beringhs in Networking Hardware Firewalls, Network Software Firewalls, Apache Tomcat Application Server

Tags: Zywall iis tomcat

Hello there.

I just replaced my firewall with a ZyWall 2 Plus.

I rent an A.B.C.104 subnet with 255.255.255.248 mask, ie 106 to 110 usable Internet addresses.
108 is answered by IIS for one web site on port 80 (192.168.8.2), and 109 should be answered by tomcat on port 8080 (192.168.8.7). I cannot figure out how to configure the firewall to forward http (80) calls to 109 to the port 8080 on the tomcat server.

Could you please help?

Here is what is done:

1. WAN config with A.B.C.106, 255.255.255.248, and GW 105.
2. NAT enabled in both directions (V RIP-1)
3. Windows networking allowed from WAN to DMZ (is it necessary?)

4. DMZ config with 192.168.8.1, 255.255.255.0, no DHCP
5. Windows networking allowed from DMZ to WAN (is it necessary?)

6. Firewall enabled (allow aymmetrical route - is this necessary?)
7. Permit from WAN to DMZ with 2 rules : any to 108 on http and any to 109 on http.

8. NAT enabled with full feature
9. 1 to 1 mapping from 192.168.8.2 to 108 and 192.168.8.7 to 109
10. Port forwarding: 1 active rule incoming 80 to 80 translated 8080 to 8080 for 192.168.8.7.

That's all... Any advice?

Vincent.
