The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. Mystery files

Hi Experts:

I noticed that my C: drive seemed a little more full than I remembered it being.  Upon checking with an app that lists the largest files/folders in searchable formats I discovered six files I had never noticed before: all exactly the same size down to the byte, (1.43 GB) all system file attribute, all inaccessible to me, (I have admin priv. on this machine,) all showing no contents when viewed with something called "file snoop", (this app opens files for visual examination, text, hex, formatted view, and other information such as version info, company name etc).
They all appeared at exactly the same date and time, and are named respectively: O E I L S Y (all C:\Windows, of course)  I can't delete them as they are in use by another "person or program."
The machine hasn't been acting any weirder than it usually does, (Windows, after all) but all of a sudden these large files appeared taking up a lot of space.  I wonder if they might be spambot related, or something even more sinister.
