How to perform https site vulnerability testing ??

Dear experts,
We have HTTPS URL application which has the access over the internet. We would like to perform security drill so as to confirm it is safe from any kind of online vulnerabilities.


Please suggest how to go-ahead to make sure site is safe from any kind of online external threat. Any best known defined procedures in place on this respect. I want to know, how the organizations do perform fo site testing. Are they use any kind of tools/softwares??
