check with the provider if they provide SFTP this is a secure protocol and this feature can be used from open source ftp software such as filezilla

FTP Vulnerabilities - what are they?
Greetings,
I need to obtain a FTP software for business operations. Before I decide on the best product to go with, I wanted to find out what the current vulnerabilities are with FTP software. Thus, I could gauge the product on how it handles the vulnerability.
Can someone tell me what I need to be aware of when considering FTP software? What are the vulnerabilities ??

Password and data are sent using clear text unless you configure some encryption. So all your data is easy to intercept and if anyone does the same with the password - it can do virtually everything.
There are some encrypting solutoins but this is not "standard" FTP feature.
