The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Mozilla, Firefox, 2.0.0.6, javascript / activex / ajax not working properly

Asked by fabianlujan in Firefox Web Browser, JavaScript, Scripting Languages

Hello,
Everything started two nights ago when I tried to access gmail from my Firefox 2.0.0.6.
I found that it loaded in "basic html" version (that is no ajax) instead of the full-featured "standard version", so tried hundreds of times to access by pressing the link in the header and the bottom but nothing happened.

All the possible address to access gmail had the same result: failed to load properly.
The only address that works fine is: https://mail.google.com/mail/?nocheckbrowser

After reading some pages, I've deleted the cache, cookie, temporary folders, reinstalled firefox and the same history.

More things happened: Now I don't see this page (experts-exchage.com) properly. Seems like the layout was crazy and I saw a lot of text and images not aligned or in bad positions.
I can't see some buttons that works with javascript. They just dissapear.

Had to start Internet Explorer in order to be able to complete this question form.
Checked a Google help forum and when filling their fields saw the alert message "javascript and activex should be enabled" (or something like that).
Well, something is going on.....but what??
At any vBulletin forum or similar, when you press certain buttons they just appear like folding out. Well, here none.

What is the problem? Firefox? Javascript? ActiveX or what?
For reference, the Firefox version is 2.0.0.6
Somebody told me something about greasemonkey and the only addon I had about it was Better Gmail which I disliked and was deleted.

HELP please, I can't work, I can't check my emails. This is boring.
Nothing is visible as it was. Thank you for your help.
