When connectiong to remote client I get a data encrytion error?

I have two winxp machinces setup in remote locations. One connects to the host computer A and every once in awhile it gives me a data encryption error.
They are conncting via interent and both have high speed connections (ADSL/Cable).
The host computer is setup on a different port 3390 then standard default rdp port, as I have two computer that need remote access and port forward on router.

On both locations have linksys router. On host computer location I have port forwarded port 3390 to host computer A.

Any thoughts?

Remapping the default RDP ports should not be the problem, as we are running into this problem too and did not any remapping.
Our problem seems to be, that the internet sometimes is a bit slow and packet losses are very common. It seems that the Terminal Server disconnects a rdp session with the an encryption error message if lots of IP packages get lost or arrive with a very high delay at the server.
We can reproduce this in our LAN by producing a lot of multicast traffic. Lowering the rdp encryption level on the server could probably solve your problem. (But: this will affect your security level)
Also give a firmwareupdate of the routers a try.

ASKER

This is the exact error message:

Because of an error in data encryption, this session will end. Please try connecting to the remote computer again.

Cause:  Data encryption provides security for data traveling over network connections. A data encryption error can end a session for security reasons.

Solution:  Try connecting to the remote computer again. Encryption policies can vary between systems and domains. If you continue to see this error message, contact the server administrator.

Firmware on routers is at lastest level.

packet loss humm interesting sound slike maybe biger problems will have to run some more tests to see. Just strange work great for few months then about two weeks ago none stop errors sometimes works for ten minutes and other times ten seconds.

http://www.linksys.com/download/firmware.asp?fwid=1

Sunray

Click here to start downloading the new firmware version 1.45.6.
This is the firmware loaded on both routers.
Ok I contacted Linksys and they sent me firmware 4.3 whatever before lastest and loaded that everything work beautifully now no problems (Fingers crossed)
Sunray you didn't really answer my question, but sent me in the right direction, which is just as good in my opinion :0
Thanx for assistance.
feel kinda of silly cause I forgot to ask my self the most basic question "What has changed since the last time everything was working?"
ARGH!
Thanks

Glad I was able to guide you

Help!! I am getting the same error:

Because of an error in data encryption, this session will end. Please try connecting to the remote computer again

This is from one LAN client to the Server

RDP session.

I can RDP to 15 other servers.

It worked fine yesterday and today it does not work....

There is no router involved....
