I want to Divorce Long Term Relationship with Intruder.

The operating system I use is WIN98 and W2K Professional. An intruder (Hacker) will use my PC to set up camp on Internet Properties in the restricted zone and execute code, and etc..  When I try to eliminate it by using SpyBot advanced, Adware, HijackThis, Spygone or other similar programs the intruder becomes seriously aggressive and I have to FDISK my harddrive, Format and load up. The odd part of all this hacker intrusion occurs only when I use Microsoft Internet Explorer. It never happens with other browser like Internet Explorer, Netscape. Microsoft simply said its common and they will have a security patch soon.
Any ideas how to kick the intruders ass off my PC now..A security patch may be a long time in its arrival.

Steve.
Disable all the $ Shares.

Disable Guest User account in W2k
This should prevent hackers to gain access to your Systems.

Also if you have any desktop firewall  you can install the same. Upgrade your internet explorer to IE 6 ..You will have privacy option where it filters most of the execution when you set the leve to high.

try it ..good luck

Hardware firewalls are great.  You really should deploy a software firewall as well.  ZoneAlarm is free in its basic form, and very effective.  Download and install.  www.zonelabs.com

Good luck.
Hi!

Post a HijackThis log here, and we'll take a look at it.

Good luck!

zonealarm will be sufficient, get it for each pc you own. read the guide and help files so you understand waht it's doing...

once you get the firewall set up, you can also check the logs to determine if the attack comes from the same  IP address every time... If it does, look to see which ISP "owns" the IP address and report the hacking attempt to the ISP.
:o) Glad we could help you - thank you for the points
