Norton internet security 2005 "rules automatically created" message keeps popping up for printer spooling
I recently upgraded to Norton Internet Security 2005, but I keep getting a message that pops up out of the system tray saying "rules automatically created" for Microsoft printer spooling service. I am using a wireless internet connection and the printer I use is connected to another computer that has multiple users. Whether I just let the message go away or click OK, it keeps coming back. How do I stop this message from constantly going up and down? I have tried changing the settings within the programs list in the personal firewall settings, but Microsoft printer spooling service is listed more than once, and changing the settings on any or all of them does not help. Turning off the automatic configuration setting also does not work.

I am using Windows XP Professional. I am able to print. I just want the message to stop constantly going up and down in the corner of my screen.
Did you ever get an answer to this - its driving me mad as well!

I have not gotten an answer. I posted the question twice and have had about 5 emails back and forth with Symantec technical support. No one can solve the problem or even tell me how to turn off the feature that is causing it.
I don't have this package installed, and did more research; again to no avail. Perplexing, to say the least.
The only other thought I had was to see if modifying the Pop up and Ad Blocker alerts makes any difference at all... This was what got me thinking about his, but 'logic' says not likely to help.
To disable Ad Blocking and Pop-up Blocking (reverse, of course, to enable and test)
Open Norton Internet Security.
In the main window, on the left side click Norton AntiSpam.
Select Ad Blocking from the menu on the left.
New options should appear along the right-hand side of the Norton Internet Security window.
Click Turn Off.
Select Pop-up Blocking from the menu on the left.
Click Turn Off.

This document describes Ad Blocking strings and how to add, modify, or remove strings in Norton Internet Security, Norton AntiSpam, or Norton Personal Firewall..... MANUAL configs.

I turned off the Microsoft Office Document Imaging and, after a restart, the messages seem to have stopped. Thanks for the help!
No worries - lets hope it stays off :-)
