Gain back access to an encrypted file.

Hi, I had my files shared among my network, so i encrypted my important ones. Now i kept these files on my second hard drive and just today had to reinstall windows on my main drive but now i can't access the encrypted files. It says that my user has ownership (i am the only user and i am an admin) and i tried to take away the encryption but no luck. I need these files!! HELP! Thanks.

Just a couple of other things you may find of use :

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;223316

And just as a thought for recovering the files I would give knoppix a try, burn the image to a cd and boot knoppix up from that cd and try that , you can find knoppix here :
