Uninstall of OfficeScan using remote execute ...

I have moved to a new Virus detection suite and it requires that I remove the old Anit-Virus software first. I would like to be able to hit remote sites using SMS remote execute for a silent uninstall of the Trend OfficeScan software. NTRmv.exe is the GUI uninstall program that can be executed from the start menu, however I do have to type in a password at the GUI interface for removal. Is anyone aware of a command line switch that would allow me to include the password in a remote execute function from my SMS remote tools console? I prefer the removal to be hidden/silent.  Or another way that I can remove the Trend OfficeScan through SMS?

The removal requires an admin login or "run as ..." and the password for the OfficeScan console.

Thanks!

A few links that will help you successfully uninstall it silently, but no password protection listed for some reason? Different version?

ASKER

I'll see if the first link will allow uninstall despite the password, but thats been my big problem so far. I can initiate the uninstall sending "c:\Program Files\Trend Micro\OfficeScan Client\NTRmv.ex" to the client, but the uninstaller stops at the console password request. I have to remote to the machine and enter the password before it proceeds.

I'll test altering the registry key "HKLM\Software\TrendMicro\PC-cillinNTCorp\Misc\Allow Uninstall" value to "1" and see if that produces the results i'm looking for.

Thanks!
Still no solution to this problem. I need a script to remotely uninstall the software. A password must be provided for the uninstall to succeed. Version 8.0 Office Scan Client Enterprise.

Hello,

I have the same problem and I use an auto it script because my Office scan server what a "test server". We deleted the server and it was the only way to resolve our prob without reinstalling an Office Scan.

launch the process : C:\\Program Files\\Trend Micro\\OfficeScan Client\\ntrmv.exe\

Put the command WinWaitActive for the password Window and send the password string to this windows

We are now using F-Secure.
