Exchange 2010 unable to send/receive email
Exchange 2010 Std.
I was on the server, enabling debug logs from McAfee Groupshield for issues with RPCServ.exe using 100% CPU randomly.
After I exited GroupShield I noticed an error that the Exchange Store has stopped working, and everyone had lost access to Outlook.
I rebooted the server, and found the Information Store service crashes immediately if the GroupShield service is running.
I disabled GroupShield, and the Information Store service comes back up and stays up.
However, unable to get anything through on Port 25. Have tried rebooting. Cannot telnet to 127.0.0.1 25
In the event log the only warnings I get for Application Log is a whole bunch of:
9823 - MSExchangeIS Mailbox Store
An Invalid event history watermark has been detected by the background cleanup. The watermark will be deleted.

Mailbox: long uid
Watermark CounterL 0x5C2134
How do I get transport up and running again?

I ended up reinstalling GSE along with all available patches.
Even before a reboot Exchange came back up - but you were right, when I uninsatlled it left the Mcafee agent behind!
