How can I pre-select a view type of Thumbnails (or Details, etc.) when I use the Common Controls GetOpenFileName or GetSaveFileName API calls?
This question comes up occasionally here at Experts-Exchange and even a Google search will turn up lots of "answers" that say "It can't be done!" True, there is no API to control these things, but with a bit of spelunking with Spy++ and some trial-and-error hacking around, I found that it is possible. I created a C++ object, CFileDlgEx -- derived from the MFC CFileDialog class -- that does exactly that. …

As an IT Consultant I have the need to have access to multiple mailboxes on different Exchange Servers remote from my working location.
In previous versions of Outlook this meant I had to either use different outlook profiles or settle for using Outlook Web App (OWA) which made it difficult to copy data in between mailboxes and or have access to scheduling details from both servers.
This scenario could also be true for someone who works for 2 different companies and wants to see the exchange information from both servers side by side (calendars/contacts etc).

Question: I have recently switched from Windows to Mac. One of the features I used weekly was Adobe Acrobat's ability to create pdf's out of mail folders in Outlook. Since I have to purchase the full version, I would like to know if that same feature is available in the Mac version before I spend the $400.
Does anyone use Acrobat Standard or Pro with Outlook 2011?
Answer: Ok I just tested this.
In Outlook 2011
Selected few mails (7)
Print>Save as PDF (built in feature)
Saves 7 mails to one pdf.
Selecting a folder gives me grayed out Print option but inside the folder, Select All... and it works.

Question: Hi all,
I've copied a database with customer names in and delivery notes etc and given that to another part of the company. At some point we'd like bring databases together.
Is it possible to merge two databases together and what are the concerns over unique keys.
Any advice gratefully received.
Answer: The issue with unique keys is that if new entries are being made to both copies such that you have duplicate keys between the two data sets, then when you merge the files you'll have....duplicate keys. If you have related records based on those keys in other tables then you'…

Hello. I am trying to install iTunes on my Windows 8 machine and I get this error everytime. I have ran as admin, uninstalled and reinstalled. Tried under a different profile. I'm trying to avoid re-installing Windows.
Has anyone else ran into this issue?
If pic doesn't display, see attachment.
Answer: You may have some issue with your non-8.1 machine. I could get 11.2 to install but it was giving me errors I did not like. It did work, just not well.
I went to Companion Link instead and all is well now without iTunes (or any Apple).
I have a Windows 7 Pro …
