The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

updating ade across domains

Asked by talonsblade in Microsoft ADP, MS SQL Server, Access Coding/Macros

I am working on an ADP for my company.  It links into a MS SQL Server 2000 database.  I currently use SQL authentification because this adp is going to be used on two different domains.  I have my own login in form and everything works great. I can log in with no problems even across domain.  What i am working on now is an update procedure.  My company does not have control of the domains and not many people have accounts on both domains.  The problem i am having with updating is that if I make a new version of the ADP(which will be an ade when it is released) i will have to store a full copy of the ade in 2 different locations, one for each domain and then program it to look in different locations.  what i came up with was to save all forms, module, repots as text and load them into a table on the server.  when it is time to update the update procedure will just download the new text file and create a new adp on the fly with the new text files and then covert the new adp into an ade with accmdmakemdefile.  however none of this works.  the only thing i have ben able to get work is to save the text files into a table.  i cannot create a new mdb, or i can but i cannot use loadfromtext on that mde remotely.  also the accmdmakemdefile gives me a "This action was canceled" error.  I am open to any suggestions or help.  I am desperately ready to get this adp out there so people will stop calling me for the reports that it creates.  Start Free Trial
